Capture the Crests event!

Capture the Crests returns new and improved thanks to your feedback!

Event start: 24.05.2016 (The event will take place on all words except the following: Classic, Speed, and Masters)
Event end: 02.06.2016
Objective : Send your champions to challenge other players in hopes of capturing their crests. If you hold on to a unique set of crests until the end of the round, you will be awarded Gems to spend on valuable prizes in the event shop!

Command your Champions

The event can be accessed via the notification at the bottom of your village overview:





When the event begins, three Champions will come to your village carrying a Crest. These Champions have two purposes: defending your crest when challenged by other players, and challenging other player's champions in hopes of coming back with one of their Crests. The number of champions you have defending your crests directly impacts your chances of holding on to your precious crests. Command your Champions wisely!

Capturing the crests
The main goal of the tournament is to collect as many unique sets of crests as possible. To do so, send your champions to "Challenge" another player. A successful challenge will win you a random crest from your rival's Inventory! If your Champions are unsuccessful, they will return empty handed. However, their experience in battle will have gained them progress points toward an additional champion! You can have 8 champions in total, so it is important to properly utilize them so you can quickly unlock them all. If you have collected rare crests and are feeling vulnerable, then you can increase your defence change up to 80% by clicking on the icon next to the defense chance percentage and then paying Premium Points for it.

The challenge duration is calculated based on the number of villages you have and where they are located. This means challenge duration could change between the same players, especially if they gain or lose villages.
Some crests are more rare than others. However, the rarest crest from each player in your vicinity will be displayed, so plan your challenges and deference accordingly!
Last time we ran this event, players asked for the ability to filter out their friends, tribemates, and crestless villages from the nearby player screen. In response, we have added those filter options at the top of the nearby players screen as an exclusive option for Premium Account members.

Another improved feature is the crest locking mechanic. You will now have the possibility to lock a crest until the end of the round, completely eliminating the chance if it getting stolen from you for the entire duration of the round. You can only lock 3 crests, and it will cost you Premium Points, so choose wisely!

The end of a round
At the end of a tourney round, your crest collections will automatically be traded in for gems. The more unique sets of crests you collect, the more gems you will receive.If you do not have any crests at the end of the round, you'll start the next one with 2 extra Champions.

Each round will last 24 hours. At the end of a round, your crests are exchanged for gems which can then be exchanged for some really nice items in the event shop!


Rankings
Due to popular demand, we have introduced a ranking system into the event! Now you can see how you compare with the other players on your world for both the number of challenges won and the total number of gems you have earned. Clicking on your ranking for each category will provide you with a list of the players on your world who are near you in the ranks.
